Stop School Pests is an online training and professional development course for K-12 school employees on Integrated Pest Management or IPM. IPM- techniques help to improve the environmental health of schools for the benefit of children and employees by reducing pesticides used and pests that can cause illnesses and allergies. Individual online- trainings are available for Facility Managers, Maintenance Staff, Administrative Staff, Teachers, Food Service Staff, Custodial Staff, Landscape and Grounds Staff, School Nurses and an IPM Basics – Introductory training.
The training is free of charge and anyone can take it to learn more about IPM. Participants will receive a certificate for taking the training when completing a short quiz at the end of the training.
Stop School Pests training was developed by national experts on IPM such as schools employees, universities, extension agents, researchers and non-profit organizations. It is the first-ever standardized, national, peer-reviewed, pilot-tested training and has undergone many rounds of feedback from participants working in schools to make sure it meets their needs.
